Hello! we’re Ohne Rotkohl.
We’re a creative studio founded in Berlin in 2024. Our passion belongs to the city that inspires us every day: Berlin loud, quiet, contradictory, beautiful. In our work, you’ll find its streets, its people, and its unmistakable humour.
At Ohne Rotkohl, we don’t just design posters we tell stories. Whether it’s a Typografie Poster with a charming “Danke”, a quiet art print of Kreuzberg, a minimalist Wandbild for your living room, or a cheeky piece like “Harry Pommes” (where Harry Potter munches fries instead of casting spells) each design is a tribute to Berlin life.
Our collections are all printed on paper consciously made, visually bold. You can find us every Saturday at Boxhagener Platz and every Sunday at Mauerpark Flohmarkt surrounded by fresh air and real conversations with people who, like us, believe art is for everyone.
Ohne Rotkohl stands for Deko Poster that don’t just decorate they speak. For Wandposter that turn everyday moments into little statements. And for a belief that says:
Art belongs in your home not just in museums.
But why is our brand called Ohne Rotkohl? 🤔
Wait, the story’s actually pretty cool!
We get this question a lot and yep, it’s a fair one:
Why the heck is a brand for posters named after a vegetable we actually never eat?
Simple: “Ohne Rotkohl, bitte” (no red cabbage, please) was one of the very first German phrases we: Marcello and Nuria ever learned. We’re an artist couple from Colombia and Spain, and we’ve been living in Berlin for several years. Our love for Döner (without the red cabbage) not only got us through many hungry days, but it was also our very first attempt at navigating the language of this city.
That small, slightly absurd sentence quickly became our inside joke a symbol of our Berlin beginnings, of finding our place, of failing and laughing through it all.
Years later, when we started creating Deko Poster and Typografie Poster together, it was clear:
Our project needed a name that told that whole story. Something personal. Something that sticks. Something that breathes Berlin.
Ohne Rotkohl is more than just a phrase, it’s a wink to our journey. And a reminder that art can (and should) be fun.
